How to » see website visits from an email campaign in your Google Analytics

Once you have setup an email with the necessary link tracking code you can use Google Analytics to get information about the success of click throughs from your email campaign.

These instructions assume you have a working knowledge of Google Analytics

  1. Select 'Traffic Sources' from the left nagivation
  2. Select 'All Traffic Sources'
  3. You should see an entry for 'newletter / email', this is how you can distinguish traffic generated from your email campaign from other sources, there are other more complicated options that you could pursure with a deeper understanding too.
  4. You can click on the 'newletter / email' link, or use the filter mechanism to look at ONLY visits from email campaigns.
  5. You can use 'Advanced Segments' to plot the email campaign against normal visit or another other metric.
